Superluchas meanwhile has these fun paper planes you can cut, fold, and throw at the ring next time you are at a match!

  • WE WERE THERE!

    Thank you, YouTube!

Look out for the Dragon Rojo Jr. cardboard sign, sticking out of the audience. (shown very briefly at 0:25 top clip, then at 2:52… second clip) That’s where we were sitting!  :)

And here is a clip from the Los Campeones Movie Premiere on Sunday morning.
Andres Palacios is the Spanish voice of Dragon Rojo Jr.

  • Los Campeones Premieres in Mexico!

On Sunday October 12th, our movie “Los Campeones De La Lucha Libre” made its official premiere at the Antara Cinemex in Mexico City (which is sort of like the Hollywood-Highland theater complex in L.A.) and we were there to enjoy this spectacular event with an audience of 2000 people, including 25 major masked wrestling stars, celebrity actors Iliana Fox (voice of Sorpresa) and Andres Palacios (voice of Dragon Rojo Jr) and major television and newspaper press.

How often does one get to hang out with luchadores at Starbucks? :)

Also present at the premiere was Dragon Rojo Jr, a rising star in the Arena Mexico, and real-life manifestation of the main character in our movie. It was absolutely thrilling to see him wrestle at Arena Mexico on Friday night and to meet him in person.

On the red carpet: Enrique Altamirano, Exec. Producer

The theatrical version of Los Campeones is dubbed into the Spanish language (sounds GREAT to us!) and is distributed by Azteca Cine. To date, 400 prints have been released to theaters around Mexico.

The movie will open in theaters to the public on October 17th 2008.  If you are in Mexico, go see it! :)

    COOL STUFF:

This tiny wall bust of Dragon Rojo was bought outside Arena Mexico!
(Unfortunately there was only ONE of these)

    Dragon Rojo mask!
We picked up a few souvenir hoods outside the Arena but this one here
is a gift from the man himself – a mask that he has actually wrestled in.

Mini El Dragon Rojo mask next to Blue Demon and El Santo…
And last but not least, here is an awesome ring I picked up at the El Santo store…

Yes, just under 14 days until the first premiere in Mexico City.  The film is opening in a big number of theatres, and we’ll be in Mexico for the pre-public premiere on October 12th.

  • Our boy WINS!!!

    “Your mask is mine, Mictlan…”

Xanga, PLEASE do something about your slow, clunky editing.  Ay!

  • Rikochet, Best Man

Phofo sent us this picture – where Jack Black talked on TV about how he and his wife eloped and that their “witnesses” were her favorite stuffed animals…

How ’bout that, huh? Our boy Rikochet was there!
(Was he Jack’s favorite stuffed toy, we wonder?)

  • Life Imitates Art

Below: Match poster and actual Dragon fans at the Arena. And they haven’t seen the movie yet!

  • “Otra, otra, otra…”

More, more, more Dragon Rojo Jr.  So while CGI labors away in a pointless quest to imitate life (‘Uncanny Valley’?!? Give us a break) here’s the flipside

Yes, we are very excited over this

  • When cartoons become real!

UPDATED!  New pic!  Dragon Rojo looks like the real deal!

This is seriously freaky. As part of the promotion for our movie ‘Los Campeones de La Lucha Libre’, a new luchador based on our main character has debuted in Mexico! Behold – Drago Rojo in the CMLL promotion! No word if his cranky, overbearing papa was ringside giving him a hard time all evening (movie story point!)

As Lucha Libre diehards, this is such a huge thrill for us. And not the first time this has happened. These two luchadores from Tijuana looked a little familar too…
