  • Mods & Rockers! *Updated!

One of the great things about living in Los Angeles is the Egyptian Theatre.  Hot on the heels of its Japanese Giant Monsters festival comes Mods & Rockers, featuring ultra-groovy sixties psych-outs such as Danger: Diabolik, Barbarella and The Loved One.  The festival runs from July 8th to July 17th.

And how have we missed this!  For those in NYC, there are some great regular screenings at Coney Island.  The August 13th program with Santo in the Wax Museum looks like a winner.  (No mention of those Lucha vixens from La Gata Negra, but we understand they’ll be there).  Then on August 27th is a screening of a film we now have to track down and see, The Girl and The Geek.  No, it’s not part of the Revenge Of The Nerds series.

“I swear that is the last time I eat at Taco Bell.”

“Oh no, it’s a banana hotel!”

Some very cool 3D artwork from the boring3d.com daily archive. (thanks to Gabe for the link! P.S. I am going to start learning 3D (Maya) very soon… this will be extremely useful for toy/figure designs and our big new Lucha animated project.) – Lili

So it’s that Comic-Con time of year. If you see either of us wandering around please don’t hesitate to say hi!

  • Danger Diabolik! YES!! One of my favourite films. Hey i’ll be in San Diego this year…probably behind the Flight Booth and wandering the floor…if i see you i’ll make a scene. YOU BETCHA!

  • The only Diabolique I’ve seen is the one with Sharon Stone.

  • Quote form Eddie “this will be extremely useful for toy/figure designs and our big new Lucha animated project”
Does this mean another dvd will be coming out soon or a web based cartoon? What does this mean!

  • It’s a quote from Lili, actually :)
Let’s just say that Lucha is a huge phenomenon in it’s own right…and not necessarily ‘Mucha’ ;)   All will be revealed  -Cryptic Eddie
