Help
We need a new web host! Our website is currently hosted by Telstra Bigpond (Australia) and we are paying some unreasonably high fees for not a lot of bandwidth usage. We need to jump ship SOON.
Web hosting recommendations, anybody?
(Windows platform, lots of streaming content, pref. US-based… )
Memo
April 28th: The Ralph Bakshi Tribute. It will be a blast to see Coonskin on the big screen. Especially looking forward to the films that we haven’t seen - Wizards, LOTR, American Pop, & Mighty Mouse…
May 28th: Stereo Total @ The Knitting Factory
June 6th: Kraftwerk @ The Greek Theater!
This looks fascinating - Sita Sings The Blues is an animated musical feature by Nina Paley. Judging by the cool character designs, I would have expected Bollywood-style song and dance, but it’s a Blues version of the Ramayana epic… (via An Artsy Fartsy Blog)
For those who are interested, there’s a full list of Flash (TV) animated productions listed on the Cold Hard Flash blog.
Eddiemuerte‘s Kiri No Tonbei has been linked to on this month’s Gublibulga! (one of my favorite music download sites)
Tonbei the Mist – (Thanks to Keith for the pic)Infectious tune of the day: Beat Girl by John Barry.

wow, really enjoyed the sitayana! brilliant stuff indeed
i’m not an expert on this kinda stuff, BUT i always assumed http://www.mediatemple.net/ was THE best as many brilliant websites have them as their host. i just went on there and they seem to offer some good deals with high bandwidth….but then again i wouldn’t know if the price was right as i live in the UK.
Hope that helped….:-

We use Webintellects.com for CartoonBrew and have never had a problem. They have great customer support and really affordable flat rates. I’m not sure what they charge if your site has a lot of streaming content, but they’re worth checking into.
Thanks so much for the info…we’ll definitely check these out.
Man…US address, US Web hosting, possible US branch of our company…what’s next?
You might check out fourbucks.net. That’s who I use… though they may run Linux. I forget. Seeing as how I have never had a problem with them at all, I recommend them.
hmmm… maybe brinkster.com? I haven’t used them, but have always been tempted to. They’re having some special offers right now I think.
Hey thereI’m using http://www.ipowerweb.com for some of my clients – great 2GB storage space, large bandwidth etc for $AU125pa – has lots of extras like shopping cart, guestbook, stats, database backend, etc etc
Have been hosting a site with them for over a year now and no problems.
Re Nina Paley
Isn’t she great! I came across her stuff a few years ago, just cartoon strips at that stage, and was based on her own life – with a very natural easy graphic style…this project looks like she has made a definite shift and looks very accessible.Of personal interest also as I am fully into playing blues on the harp at the moment, and teaming up with a slide dobro player, and someone close to me his moving towards indian music/jazz fusion too!
Sorry i don’t have recommendations for website hosting…Just wanted to ask if you created the character on your website? Their cute…
