A big package arrived yesterday from our friends in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Matt & Joyce have put together a fascinating bunch of souvenirs. “…to help you familiarize yourselves with some of the more eccentric aspects of life here in Americas Dairyland”.
- There’s a book on Cheese (because Wisconsinites eat lots of cheese doncha know!
) - cheese badges
- antique postcards of Dickeyville Grottos & Shrines – wow.
- a Dairy Bar menu which serves lots of – you guessed it – Cheese!!!
- And a copy of Lummox: The Trials and Triumphs of a Modern Man with More Muscle Than Money. (some characters are based on Matt’s and Joyce’s friends)
Here are some recipes from the cheese book because you just never know when you might need to COOK this stuff.

i lived in milwaukee for 9 years while growing up. i love the midwest… just not the snow. and i once met someone who didn’t love cheese… i couldn’t believe it!
