I thought that the Gmail hype would have died down by now but Google has just released another round of invitations for Beta Gmail accounts. Who wants a Gmail account and can’t wait till the release date? What will you give me?  I have one more invitation…

… Tonight’s dessert. The small text reads:

Fudge-Covered Peanut Butter-Filled Pretzels in Vanilla Malt Ice Cream Rippled with Fudge & Peanut Butter

Eddie: I was looking for the most over-the-top full-on possibly most sickening ice cream I could find.

  • Good Weekend article

The interview that we did a few weeks ago was in this weekend’s  (SMH or The Age) Good Weekend magazine. The article is about Australians who work 24/7, includes interviews with various ’workaholics’, and is based on the premise of the new book -Better Than Sex. (At the time of the interview, no one said anything about comparing work with sex … )

Anyway, the article got two things wrong:

    • We are not a “husband and wife team”!!!! (No, we didn’t suddenly get married without telling anyone)
    • We didn’t “sell our Sydney apartment” to move to Los Angeles. We were renting.

Good Weekend articles don’t get published online; thanks to Peter, Jonathan and Karen for scanning and sending this to us!

    Burundis on TV!

We’ve just found out that the Burundis webisodes we worked on over 3 years ago are showing on US and Mexican TV!!!

The show is a live-action Mexican kiddie game show called Reto Burundis, and airs on Univision channel, Saturday mornings.(In Mexico it’s on Televisa). The animated webisodes are about 2 minutes in length each and were written and produced by Fwak! and Fudge Puppy (Eddie’s company before Fwak) for the Burundis website where they can be seen for a registration fee.

    Download clips: 3.5mb mov & 1.5mb mov
Does the world need more wrestling cartoons? ;)

Carol Alfonso – who signed our guestbook - shared this info with us and also kindly sent us stills and short videoclips from her tv (see above). What a blast to the past. It’s so cool seeing this stuff in Spanish!

The Burundis characters were created by Enrique Altamirano and are the property of Bouncynet Inc/Televisa Mexico

    Is this a firewall problem?

I’ve installed a firewall on this laptop (ZoneAlarms Pro) and have since had trouble uploading images… The xanga image upload window goes blank after I submit a pic, and hangs… The only way I can get images to display is to manually type in the html tags. Sometimes I can’t upload anything at all.

I have checked my firewall settings – everything looks OK – no scripts nor pop-ups disabled. Also- when I visit some other (usually blogspot) blogs, the commenting windows will no longer pop up. I am assuming these problems are related in some way to the firewall because I haven’t changed my browser settings.

If anyone has any advice, please help!

  • Mr. Unknown has a new editorial up on the FPU website! This month, it’s all about the lucha legend Canek! We are going to see Canek LIVE on June 19th at Frank & Sons, City of Industry, where he will be wrestling Mil Mascaras, another legend. Who wants to come?

    Blogging-related links:

    • According to this post, there are FIVE general types of blogs. Ours falls somewhere in between a Linking Blog, a superficial Personal Blog (ie, journal) and a WBC Blog (thank god for protected posts).
    • Amazon.com has jumped onto the blogging bandwagon with Plogs (!)
    • NY Times article (registration required) on obsessive bloggers. I said to Eddie: “If I ever become like these people, will you please tell me?” He replied: “You ARE like these people. Who wants to fly to Germany just so she could use wifi on the plane?” (That’s not entirely true. I want to go to Germany anyway)

    Eccentric America!

Kiddie Au Go Go (circa 1960′s) looks awesome. As we are currently developing a kid’s show with novelty dances, we have been searching for inspiring dance-related material. Thanks to Lisa who drew our attention to this LP. I think I’ll have to order it!

Jamie Leonarder on SBS’ revamped Movie Show! (Australia) Jamie Leonarder is a friend of ours - psychiatric social worker, Outsider musician (Mu-Mesons), DJ (Sounds of Seduction), Cult Film collector, UFOlogist and conspiracy archivist. It was Jamie who introduced Eddie to El Santo movies many years ago, long before we knew that masked luchadores really existed.

  • Wireless DSL at last!!! It was less of a technical nightmare than I thought. In fact it was easy. Now we also have 500MB of storage space with Yahoo Briefcase and more email accounts than we know what to do with.

Territory is a new design magazine (in the tradition of IdN) published by BigBrosWorkshop (Malaysia). The designers featured in this premiere issue include Squidsoup, DevilRobots, Furi Furi and my friend – Chuo aka Action Tintoy, who sent me this magazine.
