More sights and tastes:
- Friday night: Dinner with Christy(creator of Xiaolin Showdown) Rosy and Joel at a Yakitori restaurant in Sawtelle.
- Home Depot for cacti; Fairfax markets for vinyl, and Urban Outfitters for two dish chairs.
- Lunch with Jorge and Sandra at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles (Pico/La Brea) Now, this place is totally bizarre. I like waffles, I like chicken. But waffles with whipped cream & syrup with fried chicken, onions and gravy combined? Definitely a unique gastronomic experience… and one that stays with you in your intestines for the rest of the week
- Dinner with Joel at Sushi Mac (Ventura Blvd). Too much food again! Watched Battle Royale on DVD. Great concept and the first half was awesome… but we were compelled to read the Spoilers FAQ straight after the movie to figure out the ending…
- And to top it all off, tonight we had dinner with Christopher & Amy at Delmonico’s Lobster House (Ventura Blvd, Encino)… lobster tail with loads of creamy butter, mashed potatoes, and steak …
- Tomorrow night is at the Pig and Whistle (Hollywood) with Keith & Christa. Hopefully our tummies won’t be stretchin’ too much further…

Chicken waffles???
Yep, Chicken waffles. Icky as this may sound, they’re not bad at all. Just very very heavy!
Doggone it, I KNEW IT!
Me and a friend went to Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles out here a few years ago and when the waffles came, they were plain. There was no butter or syrup around and we looked at each other and wondered, “Are we supposed to eat them plain?”. Heck, we never had waffles with out chicken before, so we did.
I’m sure the cooks and waiters were in the back peeking out, saying, “I wonder if they’re gonna eat ‘em plain… THEY ARE! HAHAHAHAHA!”.
Needless to say, I haven’t been back.
