Hi De Ho We did three signings tonight: 1 for Rafael, and 2 for a lady who is apparently starting work at Kids WB next month (and wanted to do some research on ML).There were a couple of people who were interested, flipped through the pages… a few wide-eyed kids…

We did meet some very nice people tonight. The guys who work at Hi De Ho comics are just great. Went out for dinner with Rafael, Louis, Lori, Jason and Sage at a Mexican restaurant in Santa Monica afterwards. Rafael showed us some of his storyboard artwork from Stripperella (a pole-dancing scene) which was amazing. The Stripperella artists do life drawing and research for the show at strip clubs – how about that! We also learnt that Mark Hamil frequents the HDH store and is a major comics nerd. He spends hours and hours there …
Ken stuck his head into our cubicle just as he was leaving tonight, “Nice talkin’ to you”. I realized I had been so rooted to my desk I hadn’t spoken to Ken all day. We were working our way through our evergrowing list of designs… How time flies when there is a lot to do.
Tomorrow is Voice-recording day. Tomorrow night is drinks with some WB people. Friday to Sunday is Tijuana with Jorge and Sandra. Monday is a big one: 2 storyboard pitches and 2 animatic-screenings with the network.
So are we going to stay on in LA when our time is up? Everyone keeps asking us and to be honest, a part of us wants to stay. It’s all happening here in this city – the drive, the creativity, the energy, the opportunities, the cool people. No, really. We have to at least go back and finish off Cosmic Baby, then we’ll think about it…
