From Animation World Magazine, a collection of excerpts from Mark Simon’s book – “Producing Independent 2D Character Animation”:
Australian Animation Directory
Lorraine, Neil and Pat are planning a website/directory for the Australian Animation Scene. (There has been some discussion at the OzAnimation forum about something like the awn.com site and database for recruiters/jobseekers)
It’s about time! It’s crazy that we have NO animation publications in Australia (not counting Encore Mag’s once a year animation feature); no online communities, no guilds, no way of really knowing what everyone is doing especially when some of us are too busy to move around and mingle.
I have offered to help out with this website wherever possible -maybe sourcing animation news, articles, animation-related links on the internet.
In the meantime as far as directories go, there’s only the FilmTVBiz directory… (List of Animation Companies and Animators).

Hi Lili and Eddie
Just wanted to thank you also for these links to this material on AWN site re 2D animation – getting it done.
Sharing your LA experience has been a highlight of my working week.
I reckon there must be plenty of us who have got a buzz out of being carried along by your online adventures. Half way round the planet. Over there across your own great blue Pacifiki-tiki Ocean.
Me sat here in the Blueys at my screen, with the kurrawongs, and wide flat sheet clouds swept into the high-up heavens like giant foam spray by the winds up there over the roof . The winter kicking in.
I’m thinking Cosmic Baby has been keeping an eye on the two of you from her moon pod.
I can almost see her today coz the moon is actually up there in the late afternoon sky here, surrounded by that high wide sheet-cloud foam. Good thing she’s got those warm red jarmies on a cold moon-day like this.
Meanwhile, Sparx is getting herself a bit over -committed once again! It’s all good stuff, though!
Sparx
Hi Sparx,
Thank you for your kind words and moral support! (again!) Stay warm.
Lili
