  • Absence of blog

We’re up to our hairlines in files, folders, artwork and junk as we try and sort through 2 x lifetimes of personal possesions and work, in an attempt to pack up our Sydney studio

It started like this on Sunday:

    studio junk

But by Friday was starting to get a little more under control:

If anyone in Sydney is reading this, come on down and grab yourself that Wacom tablet, Epson Printer, computer speakers or Animation reference book you have always wanted.  We are RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!

  • R.I.P. Lux Interior

Sad day in LA with the news that Lux Interior from The Cramps had passed away. We got to know Lux when he took on the part of Rayo X in our movie, Los Campeones.

UPDATE: The screening at The Egyptian was wonderful, and there was a nice dedication to Lux beforehand.  Below is his onscreen credit (Thanks to all the true friends, and friends of Fwak! who turned up in support)

We needed a creepy, unearthly yet endearing voice for Rayo X, and after testing many actors, it was apparent that the role was made for Lux. Working with him was both a blast and an honor…Tomorrow night will be a sadder experience hearing his voice ring out at The Egyptian, and a little unnerving when Rayo utters Lux’s favorite line in the movie ‘Ah, the heady stench of death’.

  • Multiplane camera in ToonBoom ANIMATE

This is a city background that Eddie created in ToonBoom Animate. Testing out camera moves here, and using 3D space – this is SO COOL!!!

And here is another video (same scene) where the cars on the street are moving.

We also want to share with you the rendered Quicktime video but it has been hours and the scene still has not fully rendered. Scene length = 99 frames; render time = 3 hours???

Here is the Quicktime export from Animate

  • Los Campeones in ITALY

We hope you can make it to our Los Campeones screening at The Egyptian Theater next month. Feb 5th. @ 7.30pm

In the meantime, we are proud to announce that a 35mm print of Los Campeones will also be showing in Bologna, Italy at the 11th Annual Future Film Festival , in the Midnight Madness program category. European viewers will be in for a treat because this print is the Spanish language version that premiered in Mexico in October 2008. The Future Film Festival runs from January 27th – February 1st 2009.

In response to the popular question: Will there be a DVD release of Los Campeones? YES! This is in the works right now :) We will keep you posted.
