Fwak! New Year
Well seeing that different cultures start their new year at different times, we’ve decided the Fwak! year officially starts March 1st! That’s when we can be ‘out with the old and in with the new’. And what does the new year hold for us?
- A new ‘Rocquita’ short with Cartoon Network Asia (Hello Japan!)
-
Goodbye Macromedia Flash. After 8 years we are truly over you. Those buggy filters you tantalisingly tempted us with in Flash 8 were the last straw. And you got an ANNIE AWARD for your inadequate software? We’re looking forward to working in some new kind of HARMONY for Rocquita
- Adios Lucha Libre. We still love you and will be at the matches wherever they are held, be it Compton or Cudahy, Tijuana or South Central - but we have collectively drawn our last luchador.
- Hello subculture. Apart from Rocquita, we are looking towards our Dance Crasher project (amongst other music related thingies)
- Bye bye Sydney
Sad but true. Our studio on Sussex Street is the best, the BEST! But it ain’t no good to us while we are based in LA. So a trip is in order to pack everything up this year - And as we move into Post production, we will finally be done with Los Campeones, the animated feature that has taken up all of our time for the last 20 or so months. We’ve been posting images along the way…and there are more on the LC Myspace page…but here are a few personal faves
And finally bye bye to Xanga. This editor is the slowest clunkiest thing ever and has been for far too long. Not quite as infuriating as Flash (you pay Macromedia a lot more money to be dicked with), but annoying nevertheless. This should be our last post here, but stay tuned for the new address…
UPDATE: We are moving here

Sorry to hear about the issues with the editor. Can I ask what sort of issues you’re seeing? We haven’t heard complaints about the editor so I want to make sure we didn’t configure something wrong on our end that’s affecting your particular browser.Hope you guys are doing well.Best,John
Ah I just checked your editor settings, and it had been set to use an old editor that we haven’t focused on. I changed your setting to use a newer editor, and it should work much better.I understand if you still want to move, but wanted to at least let you know about the better editor.John
Hi John – Long time no hear! Eddie is using IE (?); I am using Firefox v2 and I think we are using different versions of the editor. The problem I find is not so much with composing entries but with editing entries that have already been posted… It’s like once you have posted something, it’s hard to go back and tweak or change things…The code gets scrambled…I’ll contact you with specifics the next time this happens…- Lili
All I know is that for a year or so, compiling an entry has been such a pain that I have refrained from doing it.
If an editor wasn’t working properly, why put it up in the first place?
Eddie – My apologies, the editor was only available for a short time and I wasn’t aware it was even being used! I feel terrible that it’s bothered you for a year!Lili – I will definitely look into any reports of code getting scrambled! We haven’t heard that, so hopefully it’s not an issue with our current editor!
Tell me your projects are gonna be in English. I’m so sick of the whole focing spanish upon Americans. Dora si bad enough, but this “learn spanish” movement is really irritating.
It’s gonna be in Swahili with Ukranian subtitles and all the signage will be in Esperanto
“I’m so sick of the whole focing spanish upon Americans.”I completely agree! Especially when they seem to have trouble with English first. “Focing”? Somebody ring George Lucas and tell him Star Wars needs an edit: “Use the foce, Luke!”. And don’t get me started on the Italian in “Dora si bad”… Now, if only we could get those Manga shows to stop dumping their cultural themes on us, and those guys in Sopranos to cut out all that Italian stuff they use, and return to to America’s proper language (which somehow seems to be named after _another_ country), then life would be… completely vanilla.
