  • Loonateens!

In a move to counter the popularity of rival networks’ ‘That’s So Raven’, ‘Kim Possible’ and ‘Bratz’,  Warner Bros Animation announces the development of ‘Loonateens’, a 13 x half hour series which features the classic Looney Tunes characters, reimagined as teenage high school girls.

‘Lola Bunny’, ‘Daphne Duck’, ‘Rhoda Runner’ and ‘Penny Le Pew’, are some of the characters that will comprise the cast.

Said a Warner Bros Spokesperson: ‘Loonateens will have all the wit of the classic Looney Tunes cartoons from the golden age, but with a makeover to bring it into line with what girls are watching today. Instead of ‘What’s Up Doc’, we’ll be pushing  ’Whatever, dude’ as Lola Bunny’s catchphrase…”

When asked if this new series – together with Warner Bros other ‘reimagined’ Looney Tunes show, ‘Loonatics’ – represents a tarnishing of the work of such greats as Clampett, Jones, Avery and Freleng, Warner Bros. was adamant -

“Chuck would be pleased with the new show.  After all, Bugs often dressed in womens’ clothing.  This is just taking it to a new level…”

(P.S. This isn’t really being developed at WBA, but scarily, you can imagine something like this happening…- Lili )
