  • on Kingsley (Hollywood/Los Feliz)

We thought we’d found the PERFECT apartment yesterday. It was affordable, spacious, bright, airy and clean with great views. The other residents are mostly artists, movie producers, actors, students. We liked that it was an old-style building on a quiet street within walking distance of Vermont Ave. Other plusses: Double Indemnity was filmed here and the manager was a really really nice guy. So you can imagine how we felt when he told us there’s NO PARKING.

“I have to be honest with you.” he said. “If you are lucky, you might find street parking north of Franklin in the residential areas. (ie, long walk to the apartment) But on the weekends, forget it”.

I think I am going to ring up westside rentals tomorrow.

We have our Lucha Va Voom tickets!
    available at Wacko, Hollywood Blvd.

    More later…

  • oh no!!!
is iit possible to get access to a garage nearby?  that place sounds so perfect!

  • Parking in this area is bad bad bad in general.  But we have a small garage and get one space with our apartment — street parking is…..well the description the manager gave you is pretty accurate.
Saw posters for Lucha Va Voom on the coffee stop at Vermont and Melbourne.
Good luck with the hunt — if I can help with anything, email me.  I know that sounds weird coming from a near stranger, but i’m already living there and if I *can* help I will.  But I don’t wanna be weird or stalky or anything.

  • We went back to Kingsley to check out the parking situation – the place was further away from Vermont than i’d thought… maybe too far…
Craftygirl, that’s really really nice of you to offer to help. I don’t think it’s weird & I really appreciate it I might email you soon… In the meantime, if by chance you see *anything* in the area, please let me know
