Internet fads…
From Daypop (news) comes this article – Blogs: The Next Big Thing . I find it interesting that this process is compared to the dot.com revolution. Not sure I see the connection unless someone figures out how to make money from this. Apparently you can invest VIRTUAL MONEY in blogs, at Blogshares.com. And no listing for Xanga in the Top 100 …
And then I came across this – What’s a Wiki? If I understand correctly, a Wiki is a web database that is a totally changeable & collaborative project. Anyone can contribute and edit stuff on a wiki. There are rules on how to write for a wiki (If you write crap or get personal, someone will be bound to delete/edit your stuff). The idea is to be as neutral as possible.
“Blogs and wikis are polar opposites in many ways, though they’re seen as similar” he says. “A blog tends to reflect the biases and opinions of an author, while a wiki is more like an open cocktail party. In a wiki you try to speak without a strong voice, seeking consensus to create something permanent, while on a blog you’re developing your own voice and it’s very much about your voice.”
OK. Not as interesting as keeping a weblog, but I like the concept of online collaboration.
More Kubricks! Already there are kubricks for X2 and Matrix Reloaded.

*** and Sesame Street!

I wonder when we’ll see masked luchador kubricks. It’s about time, right?
Went to Oli’s last night and watched Insomnia (great movie!). Oli is doing the sound effects and mix for Super Mahi Tiki. The addition of “ocean” atmospheric sounds (waves, boats, birds…) is really doing wonders for the visuals.
We finally saw Lilo and Stitch on Friday night and I was pleasantly surprised to find myself liking it more than I would’ve expected to. I like the design style: the rounded chubby look. I liked the Hawaiian setting and characters. The story was typically Disney, but not as schmultzy and predictable as others.
Just been to Dr What’s in Bondi Junction, our favorite video store. What we’re watching this week: Casino, Touch of Evil, Mad Max 2, Amelie, In The Mood For Love, Best In Show, Archies…
Song of the day (… it’s stuck in our heads)
