    Revolution Pro (No. 2)

The Revolution Pro match yesterday was fun!

Eddie: As usual all the wrestlers worked their asses off.  There were two up and coming luchadores (Zokre & Phoenix Star) who were just awesome in the ring together.  Super Dragon and Scorpio Sky were fantastic as always, and we witnessed the skinniest, most ineffectual wrestler we’ve ever seen – Sexy Chino!

Gallinero Dos (chicken), SuperBad and Sexy Chino doing his dance

This guy was so super thin he reminded us of a bendy toy.  Then at the end of his match he danced to ‘Pump Up The Jam’, no less!  Honestly, this guy proved that ANYONE can be a wrestler!

Also, the first match had a ‘loser-washes-cars-at-intermission’ stipulation!  I love this stuff…

For some great insights into the lucha/wrestling training and working world – just found this  interview with Black Metal (a RevPro favorite) also this interview (from 2001) with Super Dragon.

There’s a AWS lucha libre show coming up at the end of May. Have to look for that flyer; will post details soon.

This indie wrestling event was held at the Frank and Sons Collectibles Show (like the previous one). We bought 3 books: Groundwork of FLCL with loads of animation key drawings;  Battle of The Planets; and Capcom Design Works for Jonathan.

  • GRRR Capcom Design Works is haunting me ive been trying to obtain a copy here in england for months now but ive never ever had no joy >_<
I bet the FLCL one is pretty damn sweet.

  • Hi ZenTron,The FLCL book is awesome if you are into savouring  b/w rough pencil artwork. The drawings are amazing and full of raw energy. I think you can order the Capcom book online somewhere… Good luck! (Are you working in animation too?) -Lili

  • Ill have to keep an eye out for the FLCL book. Im hoping to get an Capcom Design Works book imported to England at somepoint if i can.

Im not working in animation but im a huge fan of it, and im a huge fan of videogame character design and creation process.
Plus im a huge Capcom game fan :)

  • Was the Frank & Sons show goin’ on at the same time?  That show is weekly (or bi-weekly) and has tons of toys and animation stuff for sale.

  • Hi DramamineBoy, Yes the Frank n Sons show was on at the same time throughout the day.  (which is where I got the anime books from) The wrestling event was from 2pm till 5pm-ish inside the Frank n Sons building.
