WOOF!
Greetings from my newly arrived bawbricks.
Our US visas have been approved. On Monday we have to go into the Sydney consulate, submit forms, passport photos and pay visa application fees. We still don’t know where exactly we’ll be staying in LA and when exactly we’ll be leaving, but it could be at a moment’s notice within the next two weeks.
I can see us frantically packing our bags, saving files to our laptops, trying to decide which CDs, books, toys…. to bring. Two months isn’t really a long time, but it could seem like forever when you are away from your precious possessions and familiar routines, placed in an unfamiliar and bare office.
We watched HowTo Succeed In Business Without ReallyTrying last nite. A musical satire with Bob Fosse dance numbers, Nelson Riddle score, and amazing colour-styling by Mary Blair! The art direction was the best part.
There was a funny tip from the movie: “Find yourself a large company where each employee is never quite sure what the next person does”. Eddie and I both looked at each other and thought exactly the same thing …
