  • Deep NY Edition from Breakbeat Science

The more we look at pictures of vinyl figures on the internet, the more we want to make our own. Or at least find someone whom we can trust to make them for us. Any modelmakers out there who want to make us some custom figures?

Nathan Jurevicious, the Melbourne-based illustrator, now has his own vinyl figure. Junko Mizuno, another well-known illustrator also has hers. Everybody seems to be starting their own the limited-edition vinyl figure enterprise, and we gotta admit we’ve been also wanting to do this for a while now. It’s a costly and time consuming exercise, and we need the right contacts. Can we do it?

After checking out these pages from xl-shop, I think I’m going to buy me some Super Sculpy this weekend and have a go.

Picture above taken from our studio:
A silly red bear we bought in HK (his eyes are supposed to be where they are!), Godzilla, cute lil’ wind-up luchador, and the Rikochet maquette was made for us by Natalia 2 years ago (this was what Rikochet used to look like when we first designed him). And you’ve seen our figure of The Flea course…

Above: Some toys from our home collection including two of Eric So‘s Estate kids.

Weekend mission: try sculpt a luchador figure for the Viva Lucha! show… (if it turns out ok)
